By Miriam Partington in Berlin 25 January 2022 German fintech N26’s chief operating officer is stepping down, the latest in a series of high-profile departures in the past two years. It also leaves the company with no full-time woman at the C-suite level. According to a statement released today, Adrienne Gormley is leaving the neobank at the end of April “to pursue other challenges”. Jan Kemper, currently chief financial officer, will take over her role in addition to the CFO role. The only other woman at the C-suite level is interim chief people officer Eva Glanzer, but she is not full time, according to N26. It’s the latest chapter in a series of senior exits and high staff turnover at one of Germany’s most famous tech companies. It’s also a further blow as the company battles German financial regulators and eyes a potential public offering in 2023. When asked about the turnover rate, N26 said that employee turnover was indeed “higher than we would like” in the first half of last year, but has since decreased significantly. N26 said in a statement about Gormley’s departure: “N26 would like to thank Adrienne for her contributions to the business in the past years. We wish her every success in her next challenge.” Miriam is Sifted’s Germany correspondent.
